Stephen Amolo Amolo is a seasoned social scientist and development leader with over 21 years of experience in public health, community development, and human rights advocacy. As the Founder and Executive Director of CAFHED–Kenya, he provides strategic leadership in advancing equitable access to quality healthcare, empowering communities, and
promoting sustainable, locally driven development solutions.
Stephen has played a pivotal role in designing and implementing evidence-based programs in HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence response, health systems strengthening, and governance under devolution. He has worked extensively with government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners, including serving on Kenya’s Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism and participating in WHO consultations on ethical considerations in vaccine research.
Trained in Human-Centered Design (HCD) and senior management at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Stephen integrates innovation, participatory approaches, and strong leadership into program management and organizational development. He has led multiple initiatives strengthening health systems, building community capacity, and improving access to services for vulnerable populations.
Through CAFHED and his consultancy work with Stamelink InfoHealth, Stephen champions inclusive, accountable, and evidence-driven interventions that empower communities, reduce the impact of HIV and gender-based violence, and enhance health equity across Kenya.
Stephen is recognized for his strategic vision, systems thinking, and commitment to inclusive governance, positioning him as a trusted leader at the intersection of health, development, and public policy.
